Nick D. Weiss
b. Pittsburgh, PA
Artist. Educator. Administrator
Originally from Washington, Pennsylvania, I received my BFA at Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio. I am currently a graduate candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Master of Arts in Art Education program. My research centers on curricular development and educational policy, exploring gaps and bridges between secondary and post-secondary education, focusing on art and design colleges. My visual work is displayed as photographic prints, video projections, and installations grappling with concepts that stem from a personal narrative and provoke conversations about gay-male communities and culture. I visit these narratives within a contemporary context while exploring landscape photography as a historical record.
